Participating in the culture responsibly and giving back is important. After School Matters dj sessions, Arts of Life annual parties, and the Mamby (polar) Plunge are a few of my favorite projects.

The Mid nightclub and Concord Music Hall welcome students from the city's After School Matters dj program for private sessions including backstage tours and the opportunity to test their hand and ear as they play their own production and practice their skills on the venues' world-class Funktion-One sound system and lighting system. The sessions end with a Q&A with React and venue staff who lend insight to the artistry, business, and history of live entertainment.

Arts of Life advances the creative arts community by providing artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities a collective space to expand their practice and strengthen their leadership. The Mid and Prysm nightclubs were thrilled to host their annual Rotations: A Dance Party for Everybody event, because everybody deserves to boogie, especially when Paul Johnson is on the decks.

The Mamby crew organizes and participates in annual polar plunges, raising money for Bronzeville neighborhood charities.
